What Students Learn:

Instrument Families Hands-on discovery of Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, and Keyboards.
Global Musical Genres Exploring Jazz, Blues, African Folk, Caribbean Beats, Classical, and Modern Hip-Hop.
Song Structure & Theory Understanding tempo, dynamics, melody, verse/chorus structure, and basic notation.

Rhythm & Percussion

A high-energy, active introduction to steady beats, syncopation, and group performance using body percussion, hand drums, and found instruments.

What Students Learn:

Rhythmic Foundations Mastering steady beat, tempo control, quarter/eighth/sixteenth note subdivisions.
World Drumming Traditions Exploring polyrhythms and call-and-response rooted in African, Caribbean, and Latin music.
Body & Bucket Percussion Building ensemble coordination through stepping, hand claps, bucket drums, and shakers.
